Stuck in a Battle Zone, Awaiting Clear Direction

Apologies for the delay in yesterday's post.
The futures market showed some unusual activity in the early hours, prompting us to shift our focus and take advantage of the evolving opportunities. Fortunately, last night’s and today’s sessions went well, and we’re pleased with the results.

Market Overview

The S&P 500 found support at the AVWAP on January 13th, marking the recent bottom. Since then, the index has climbed steadily, gapping up almost daily to reach a new all-time high. Optimism surrounding the new administration’s policies and the Fed’s dovish stance has made the market seem unstoppable.

The 5900–6100 range remains the key battleground for the index to establish a clearer direction. Our outlook from three months ago still holds as a likely scenario:

"Still, we expect volatility ahead and prefer targeting longer-term opportunities to complement our existing holdings. We anticipate the index to trade near 6,000, with a 300-point range, over the next three months."

In the short term, tech earnings will be a crucial factor in determining the market’s direction. Additionally, TGA spending during the debt ceiling's extreme measures period, coupled with the reopening of buyback windows, could provide much-needed support for equities in the weeks ahead.
